If after the big announcement of MacBook were looking for a similar product, but that could satisfy even your wallet, here’s Asus that runs to your aid by announcing the availability of version 2015 Zenbook UX305. This comes with features similar to those of the product of Cupertino: we speak of a 12 “display resolution (2304 × 1440 pixels), Intel Core M 800 MHz (with boosters up to 2.0 GHz), without no need for a traditional cooling system (fan), 8 GB of DDR3 RAM (not upgradeable), GPU integrated Intel HD Graphics, 256GB SSD and a particular attention to the line, quite slender, which measures just 12.3 mm thick.
From the point of view of the visual impact, Asus Zenbook UX305 does not stand out particularly as to originality: in addition to the aforementioned edges very thin (now considered a standard in the world of ultrabook), this comes with an aluminum body, complete with Typical plot at the top of the device. Even in terms of total weight that is very similar to MacBook (model 13 “): it speaks of only 1.2 kg against 0.92 kg of the product Apple.
Compared to the latter, on the connectivity side, we find the use of a solution far more present: in fact, 3 ports USB 3.0, an entry micro HDMI, 3.5mm jack for headphones, memory card reader in SD and a power jack. Unfortunately for the USB Type-C: in case we need to use them you will need to use an external adapter.
Zenbook UX305 comes on board with Windows 8.1 in the “Microsoft Signature Edition”, the classic OEM complete with a suite of proprietary applications from Asus (and not) pre-installed on the device, most of which can be easily removed from the disk solid state. As for autonomy, Zenbook UX305, according to various reviews found here and there on the net, it seems to behave in a more than decent, offering 10 hours of life with average use, under WiFi.
Zenbook UX305 is already official in the US and the starting price for the configuration outlined above is $ 699.
