While it is not yet official, two shops have posted a data sheet and a price for a smartphone called HTC One M8S. According to initial findings, the main changes are to be expected at the CPU and the NPC.
For nearly a month, a few rumors, fed on Twitter by some professionals leak, and TechTastic Upleaks particular, evoke a new variant of the upcoming HTC One M8, the flagship of last year the Korean manufacturer. These leaks evoke a M8S / M8i (trade name would change depending on the location), a version whose goal is to take over the design of the M8 while offering a slightly less well-endowed data sheet. Including the chipset would be modified: Snapdragon 801 exchange places with the Snapdragon 615. But last month, we had not heard of M8S until this week.
As reported by the German website Mobilegeeks, the mobile has indeed appeared in the catalog of several online vendors. The first reveals a selling price TTC around 550 euros. The second, meanwhile, describes the data sheet, confirming in passing the presence of the Snapdragon 615. 64-bit octo-core mid-range is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable by microSDXC) and a battery of 2900 mAh. This is the second significant change to be measured between the M8S and M8, the latter based on a battery of 2600 mAh.
Continue the overview of this smartphone (which, however, has still not been made official by the Taiwanese brand …). To display beautiful images, the One M8S offers Super LCD3 Full HD 5-inch screen protected Gorilla Glass 3 reinforced by Corning. In the picture, the phone incorporates a 5 megapixel webcam on the front and main camera of 13 megapixels. This is the third major change: HTC abandon the UltraPixel sensor for a conventional sensor, probably a Sony Exmor. This component is always associated with a LED flash and a secondary sensor “Duo Camera” as the original M8.
Compatible WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, GPS, NFC, infrared, and of course LTE Category 4, the smartphone features Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version and dressed the overlay Sense UI 6.0. The set is stored in a frame 9.4 mm thick (without bulging doubt in the back) for a total weight of 160 grams.
While we greatly appreciated the efforts made by HTC on Desire 820, its first model under Snapdragon 615, the Taiwanese manufacturer seems to bridge the gap between the One M9 and Desire ranges. A usually filled vacuum declensions “mini” but this year could be doubled with a model with 5-inch screen (not 4.5 inches).
