After launching last year, a smart TV 49 inch 4K screen, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi formalized this morning’s Mi TV 2 40, declination 40 inches with full HD 1080p screen in MIUI TV ,OS home for connected TVs, based on Android. The set is priced at 1,999 yuan, equivalent to 300 euros. In other words, half the price of 4K.
Where most of the connected TV manufacturers are turning to Android TV, Xiaomi has chosen to decline its own OS, MIUI TV, itself based on Android 4.4 KitKat, while specifying that an update to Lollipop would soon be deployed.
On the hardware side, one will find a wide screen 40 inch Full HD 1080p and offers a contrast ratio of 5000: 1, designed by Sharp, known for the quality of its display panels. For performance, it will take on a quad core processor Mstar 6A908 Cortex A9 clocked at 1.4GHz (1.1 GHz and not as rectified Xiaomi via his Facebook page) and supported by 2GB of Ram, which s ‘proves to be quite enough for a Smart TV.
Note that as the Freebox Mini 4K, the Xiaomi mi TV 2 40 inch support H.265 format. This is one of the first televisions to endure and certainly the least expensive. The device is thus compatible with all major video formats, including MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV, FLV and RMVB.
Finally, thanks to embedded software, the TV also supports the latest Bluetooth joystick games announced by the Chinese manufacturer. It can act as a true Android games console.
