The Xiaomi Mi Note was officially launched a few days ago and will go into China from 27 January in the sale. Now, a first test at CNet has emerged who could watch the 5.7-inch smartphone in the normal version in advance. The sale is to be held only in China and markets from Q2 in other countries such as India, Hong Kong, etc., but not in the US or England. These markets have probably still waiting to be normal availability. Technically and economically the smartphone is well placed in the test, however, reveals that especially the design is convincing and is no longer a poor imitation of Apple’s iPhone.
Xiaomi Mi Note in the first test
The normal version of the Xiaomi Mi Note is no longer technically up to date. It comes with a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB RAM and 16 or 64 GB of internal memory. This cannot expand and thus it is worth buying the 64GB version. In addition there is the 5.7-inch full HD display with a good presentation and readability. A little later there will be also the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, which is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 810, 4 GB RAM and Quad-HD display. This is then correspondingly more expensive, but can compete directly with the flagship smartphone of 2015. The 16 GB model costs the equivalent current € 329, the 64GB Model 400 €. Priced certainly not as attractive as the previous models, but for this you also get a much higher quality smartphone.
It is this characteristic; it is also the most confident in the test of the Xiaomi Mi Note. Here you get a great quality smartphone with a metal frame and a back side of glass that is rounded at the sides. Also the display is protected by 2.5D glass, which is rounded at the edges. The same can be found in premium smartphones like the iPhone 6 Plus. As a result, the smartphone is despite the size comfortably in the hand. The rear glass is also quite stable and will withstand drops from 1.5 meters – at least Xiaomi indicate this. Tried not been in the test unfortunately. It does not fragile in each case.
Convince could continue the 13-MP main camera of the Xiaomi Mi Note. This makes very good pictures and is supported by an optical image stabilizer. The same applies to the front camera, which dissolves with 4 MP and is similar to the Ultra pixel camera of HTC. There is no precise information on the battery, which has “only” has a capacity of 3000 mAh. However, it should be enough for a day of intensive use. With the dual-SIM feature a larger battery would be but certainly not wrong.
The Xiaomi Mi Note can convince in the test of CNet well, even if it now plays with the higher price and the high quality housing in a new league. It will be interesting to see how the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro with Snapdragon 810 and Quad-HD display cuts.
