Pepsi launches its first smartphone

The smartphone market is disputed by dozens of manufacturers who fight for your attention and your money. But it seems that even companies that do not operate in the technology sector also plan to enter this fight. We are talking about Pepsi, well known for his acclaimed soda that rivals facing with Coca-Cola, and now intends to compete with Xiaomi, Huawei, among others.

Users of Weibo Chinese network, Asian version of Twitter, found the image below in a website page. As can be seen, we see the name Pepsi Phone next to the logo already known by many. This evidence began to make sense when it was found that that page is recorded in the “IT/Internet/eletronic Products/mobile phone manufactures” the social network. What makes clear that we are not facing new product just consumption but rather something more technological.

Pepsi launches its first smartphone

Does Pepsi would interest even to launch a smartphone with your name? Facebook has already done this with the Facebook Phone, but in this case, the proposal was to deliver a phone that has its main resources focused on the social network. In the case of Pepsi, we have no idea what the company’s motivations to invest in a similar product. Not to mention that the product, if there really will not be produced by Pepsi, but for some Chinese manufacturer. A partnership with Xiaomi or Huawei could arise at any moment?

Of course, nothing makes it clear that the name actually refers to the development of a cell, but we may be facing a smartphone application or even service that focuses on bringing the company from its consumers. Nor can we rule out that such an image is an advertising campaign or even promotional that it intends to announce in the coming weeks in China. As said, nothing is concrete, and we are facing any assumptions.
