While his official presentation is still pending, now the Xiaomi MiPad 2 shows again in pictures with a few surprises to boot. As you can see below, it seems to propose a design similar to Mi Note tablet version but with a design combining glass and metal. A decision that will bring greater cohesion to the latest range of products from Chinese.
As suggested by the Gizmochina site that relayed the above image, originally posted on Weibo, the Xiaomi MiPad 2 appears to be running MIUI 6. It could also be the first terminal of the firm to land directly under Lollipop. The company logo is visible in the upper left while below the screen, there are the usual three touch-sensitive keys.
But that’s not all because as you can see on the top horizontal border, there is a similar headset that smartphones offer of the firm. That suggests that the tablet will offer telephony features and could well decline, not only in WiFi version, but also in a 3G / 4G versions.
Last December, the first images of what appeared to be a prototype of the Xiaomi MiPad 2 had also surfaced on the web showing a surprising data sheet. One could point out that the particular Soc Tegra K1 2014 model was replaced by a quad core processor Intel Atom Z3735F clocked at 1.83 Ghz and supported by 2GB of RAM. For its part, the screen always proposes a definition of 2048 x 1536 pixels declined on a diagonal of 7.9 inches.
Along with this first image of the final version of the tablet, also surfaced on Weibo, a first picture of the metal frame of the machine.
