Chinese audiovisual portal LeTV finally unveiled not one, not two, but three smartphones this week. The technical specifications put all three in direct competition with Xiaomi, Meizu or OnePlus.
As expected, LeTV, the Chinese equivalent of a cross between Netflix and YouTube, unveiled its first smartphones, the new bank has the hardware of Amazon’s business model. However, while we expected to see land both models, the X900 and X600, three models with metal housing that were announced. This is why the various rumors and photo leaks were sometimes contradictory. They were all true, but did not involve the same models.
A competitor for the OnePlus One
The first of three smartphones is the most affordable model. Sold 1500 to 1800 yuan (between 225 and 270 euros) depending on the chosen storage option (16, 32 or 64 GB), the Leone relies on a large screen and almost borderless photo sensor centered on the back. Up front, the 5.5-inch panel offers a Full HD (400 pixels per inch). To animate a MediaTek Helio X10 (also called MT6795), an octo-core Cortex-A53E chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz with integrated PowerVR G6200 for graphics.
LeTV Leone
He is accompanied by 3GB of RAM, a 3000 mAh battery, a double carteSIM port, audio NXP chipset, the usual wireless connections (WiFi ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.0 aptX, GPS and Glonass Beidou, infrared and LTE Category 4). Still photography, the mobile has a 13 megapixel camera sensor supports 4K video and accompanied by a 5-element optical aperture of f / 2.0 and a 5 megapixel webcam with 90 ° wide angle lens. The ensemble is led by the overlay EUI house based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. As was mentioned, a USB 2.0 port C (reversible) is integrated.
An alternative to the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro
The second mobile clear up the range to come and rub Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. Leone Pro will be sold between 2500 and 2700 yuan (375-405 euros) according to the onboard storage space (32 or 64 GB). At this price, you have a screen size of 5.5 inches, as before, but here is a definition for a qHD resolution up to 538 pixels per inch. The chipset when meanwhile passes Snapdragon 810, which finally manages to find its audience after a failed business startup.
LeTV Leone Pro
The octo-core Qualcomm is accompanied by 4GB of RAM LPDDR4. The photo sensor seems the same with two differences: the glass cover is made of synthetic sapphire and lenses are mounted on an optical stabilizer. The webcam, it seems to be a UltraPixel model (4 Megapixel 2 micrometers each, wide angle lens and aperture of f / 2.0). An additional audio chipset was also included with ESS coprocessor for processing sound. For the rest (battery, connectivity, audio chipset, USB port, Android ROM), refer to Leone.
A very large Phablet even without sales price
Latest model, more upscale, this times the Lemax. However, it will wait a little to see it land in the LeTV shop. It should, however, be available in two versions, 32 and 64GB. Indeed, no price announced for this gigantic Phablet which measure 6.33-inch qHD display (resolution of 464 pixels per inch). Titanic size that reminds us of the Xperia Z Ultra, Nubia X6 still oy the recently Huawei P8 Max.
LeTV LeMax
Inside this Phablet, you should see all the elements of Leone Pro, namely the Snapdragon 810, 4GB of RAM, the UltraPixel sensor webcam, audio NXP chipset, the ESS coprocessor for the treatment of sound and the usual connectivity, all served by Android ROM called EUI. However, two differences: the battery logically goes to 3400 mAh. And photo sensor is no longer 13 but 21 megapixels. It is always supplied by Sony. The highest resolution 4K video remains at 30 frames per second.
The offer of LeTV therefore is decidedly upscale with very competitive vis-à-vis price promise. This means that, as with Amazon Fire range LeTV intends to rely on its phones for sale of audiovisual services and increase the number of programs watched (and ad revenue). An impression reinforced by the presence of relatively large screens and audio quality chipsets. This choice is for the video portal, quite logical. US shop has shown that this business model works. The question is whether Chinese consumers will follow. Finally, note that LeTV confirms that its smartphones will be a Western launch, including the United States. For Europe, nothing is gained.
