As expected, Huawei has unveiled the first variant of its Honor7, the Honor 7i. A midrange smartphone with a pivotable camera 180 degrees, a fingerprint sensor and a Snapdragon 616.
The main peculiarity of Honor 7i is undoubtedly its swivel camera. The smartphone does not have a front sensor, but it is possible to rotate the camera back up to 180 degrees to make selfies. A feature which was already met in the past on the Oppo N3. The obvious advantage is that it is possible to achieve good quality selfies since it is the backbone 13 MP sensor will be used. A backlit photo sensor (BSI), which has an aperture of f/2.0 and a wide-angle 28mm lens.
Chinese smartphone would not be true if China did not offer traditional photo editing features. The photo applications therefore include the HDR, but also clarification of the functions of the skin, time lapses and panoramic photos.
From the standpoint of design, it is a smartphone with a 5.2-inch full HD display which covers 79.8% of the phone cover. Its dimensions are 141.6 × 71.2 × 7.8 mm and weighs 160 grams. The hull seems plastic, but its edges seem metal. Its screen edges are especially thin case.
Another feature of the phone, the fingerprint sensor has been placed on the left edge of the phone. The translation of the Chinese site emphasizes the quality of this sensor, the second generation, able to recognize more quickly and easily the fingerprints of the user, including when it moist or wet hands. Finally, the technical specifications of Honor 7i positioned it as a solid mid-range device. Honor has integrated a Snapdragon 616 (MSM8939), the new range of Qualcomm SoC environment, combined with 2 or 3 GB of RAM depending on the model. For Honor plans to market four variants of Honor 7i, with 16 or 32 GB of internal memory and compatibility with 3G frequency bands and different 4G. Anyway, all these variants will be installed under EmUI 3.1 (based on Android 5.1) and all will have a microSD card port.
The Honor 7i is available for sale today in the Chinese territory. The 32 GB/3 GB of RAM is sold 1899 yuan, or about 266 euros. It is not yet known whether the market Honor account on the old continent. The answers definitely arrive next week, since the manufacturer will hold a press conference next Thursday to announce the launch of Honor 7, and perhaps of Honor 7i, Europe.
