ZTE S3003 - smartphone without a camera

A surprising and stamped smartphone ZTE has just appeared in China. If one believes the visuals accompanying technical specifications, the phone is devoid of the traditional camera back that is nevertheless found in its competitors.

A strange smartphone appeared in the columns of the TENAA, the Chinese telecom certification body. Manufactured by ZTE, the unit, yet situated in midrange, and lacks a crucial point: the camera.

According to TENAA therefore, the next ZTE smartphone, by the name of code S3003, will be positioned in the top of the basket of the entry. Indeed we expect a device with a screen 5-inch 720p HD, which would be found a dime SoC quad 1.5GHz and combined with 1 GB of RAM. Compatible 4G, the phone would also come with 8GB of storage space and weigh 117 grams with dimensions of 142.2×70.6×7.4 mm. An acceptable smoothness for a camera in this category which, according to the visuals published by the body, would be with a fully metal shell, with a brushed aluminum look.

This shell, precisely, is surprising. For if it offers a rather banal aspect, it shows no back camera, and leaves glimpse the presence of any retractable picture module. Difficult here is whether ZTE intends to make the risky choice to target those interested in photography does nothing – the BlackBerry tried before him – or visual published by the TENAA is based on a version of the S3003 still in ‘prototype. It would in any case the first time we would spend a prototype of this kind, especially as the visual TENAA generally publishes the finalized products, almost. The assumption that the camera would have simply been erased from the visual, accredited by the slight blurring at the welcoming band antenna at the top of the phone, is still the most credible.
