Vivo took advantage of the Mobile World Congress to unveil the X5 Max +. Less impressive than the original, with 4.75 mm thick, this new variant nevertheless corrects the main defects, namely autonomy and poor heat dissipation.

Gionee benefited from MWC to present a new Elifa S and, unlike its predecessors, the Elifa S7 does not claim under the thinnest smartphone in the world. It is even thicker than the last model launched in September 2014, the manufacturer justified by the desire not to alter the user experience. He pointed the finger at its competitors. Message received from Vivo, which has just introduced a new variant of its X5 Max.

Extended battery life and overheating under control

To recap, the X5 Max measuring 4.75 mm thick, which had just earned the precious title to its output even if it has since been taken over by the IVVI K1 Mini. A feat which required some sacrifices, the most damaging of which was the battery. 2000mAh, it was a bit light to power a Phablet 5.5 “display with Full HD and octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz. Not to mention the bad dissipation perceptible heat outside. The X5 Max + fixes it today.

Formalized at the MWC in Barcelona, this new variant introduced a slightly more generous battery 2300 mAh. As a result, the frame becomes thicker and passes 5.1 mm, which should also help to control the overheating problem. This is probably also the reason why Qualcomm’s chipset was replaced by a MediaTek MT6752 supplied with, again, an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU running at up to 1.7GHz but Mali-T720 for graphic party.

The rest of the data sheet remains unchanged and includes, a full HD 5.5 “, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and two cameras 13 and 5 megapixels. The X5 Max + is still running KitKat dressed FunTouch 2.0. The price also remains the same: 2998 yuan, or about 430 euros.

Oppo R5 in an endurance test

Although we are seen as during yesterday’s Vivo X5 Max surpassed the record of the thinnest smartphone in the world to Oppo R5; for today we have seen a new video that has launched the manufacturer Oppo to try to highlight the source points of your smartphone, and so increase sales in the international market, proving to have, as we said before a set of specifications pretty good not limited only to a reduced thickness. Recall that Oppo R5, unlike the Vivo X5 Max, will also be marketed internationally.

Precisely in this sense, the latest promotional video helps us understand how tough is Oppo R5 despite being so thin. The video was released by the manufacturer directly Oppo to demonstrate the robustness of the Oppo R5 body which, remember, is metal.

True, the video has been released directly from Oppo promotional purposes. However, on reflection, is strange to launch a video like this, and that no person would ever even make one of these stress tests with a phone that has more than 500 euros price.

Before leaving you with the video, we remind you that Oppo R5 also obtained very good results in different tests Antutu, showing great strength from that point of view.
