Huawei, the Chinese manufacturer of telecommunications equipment and networks has partnered with a Japanese operator NTT DOCOMO, with a view to testing related to the fifth generation (5G) mobile. The tests will be conducted on the spot with different radio access technologies, associated with new air interface technologies. As just announced the two companies, joint tests were made in Japan and China, in exterior locations. The aim is to test the validity of various bases of radio access technology for use in communications networks 5G. The first commercial deployment of mobile networks 5G is scheduled for 2020.

Regarding today’s most advanced networks, those based on LTE, 5G capacity improvements promises to increase tenfold transfer speeds and reduce data latency to a tenth, even in connection with densities hundred times greater. Major sporting events worldwide presented an ideal opportunity to test new technologies. Not surprisingly, therefore, the interest of both companies in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics can serve as a stage for the debut of the 5G. Huawei also recently integrated into the Japan forum for the promotion of mobile communications 5G (5GMF), which promotes collaboration between government, industry and academia in this field.

The joint tests of Huawei and NTT DOCOMO matter of this agreement concern 5G radio access technologies that work in frequency bands below 6 GHz. The planned experiments combine these technologies with new solutions Massive MIMO antennas and advanced algorithms. The objective is to evaluate the actual speeds that users could enjoy in the future.

It is not the first time that Huawei signs an agreement with a mobile operator to develop 5G; the month of November 2014, the company pactaba mobile MegaFon in Russia an agreement to create 5G test networks for the 2018 World Cup, to be held in eleven Russian cities. In fact, Huawei strong commitment to 5G technology, and plans to invest $ 600 million in research and development in this area by the year 2018. Currently, Huawei keeps on staff more than three hundred 5G technology experts spread over nine R & D centers in various countries. In 2013, the company reached a transmission rate of 115 Gbps (gigabits per second) using mmWave 5G technology in a pilot trial.

NTT DOCOMO is part of the alliance NGMN (Next Generation Mobile Networks), which today has just published a document with the requirements of the 5G phones. Within this association other multinational operators such as Telefonica, Vodafone, Orange, BT, AT & T, China Mobile, KPN, Singtel, KT, SK Telecom and Telecom Italia are, among others.

ZTE wants to anticipate the 5G with Pre-5G, three times faster than 4G https://techchinanews.wirevalley.com/zte-wants-anticipate-5g-pre-5g-three-times-faster-4g/ https://techchinanews.wirevalley.com/zte-wants-anticipate-5g-pre-5g-three-times-faster-4g/#comments Sat, 31 Jan 2015 14:15:50 +0000 http://techchinanews.wirevalley.com/?p=1290 If 5G should not take its first steps at our operators, 4G has time to evolve by then. Within months, we went from 4G Category 4, a rate of 150 Mbits, category 6 (300 Mbps) and Category 9 now made his debut with the Snapdragon 810 processor promising a theoretical speed of 450 Mbps on compatible networks. However, before you get to the 5G, there are still other intermediaries such as 4.5G presented it a few months ago by Huawei and by 2016 is expected to increase the flow rates to 600 Mbps or 1 Gbps while ZTE is currently testing pre-5G. But that may well mean therefore that term?

If 5G should not take its first steps at our operators, 4G has time to evolve by then.

As stated in their final communiqué, ZTE wants to be the first company in the world to test the pre-5G before premarket. A technology that promises to achieve “new transmission capacity records,” enabling operators to provide a “similar experience to 5G on existing 4G phones in an accelerated time”.

Technically speaking, one wonders still how this is possible given that 4G modems built into our smartphones are limited to their own abilities. Especially since the company does not release figures for flows.

As he explained to us, thanks to MIMO antennas and 128 combined, ZTE uses a “multi-stream” transmission allowing the pre-5G achieve maximum throughput three times that of traditional base stations and five times higher than conventional systems.

Also according to the Chinese manufacturer, several international operators are interested in this technology. Huawei, which intends to launch its first 5G network for the World Cup 2018, the competition is tough and it is clear that both seek to be first.
