India has become the new El Dorado of smartphone manufacturers with its high growth potential. All want to carve out a place and some do not hesitate to take extreme measures to do so, up to develop customized smartphones. This was done Xiaomi for the Mi 4i but it is not the only one who knows pragmatism. There is also HTC.

Taiwanese has already proven its expertise in this field. The One E is cut to compete with Chinese contructors on their own ground. And it has obviously taken a similar approach in India to believe statements made by Chia-Lin Chang, CFO of HTC. Collected by ET Telecom, they carry on launching a smartphone specifically designed for India in the third quarter.

As you can imagine, few technical details were disclosed. It will likely be positioned on the mid-range segment, HTC do not wish to compromise the user experience. The price would be between 15,000 and 20,000 rupees, or between 215 and 290 euros. Note, however, that if he first released in India, this smartphone should then go out into the world.

The leader also raised the possibility of investing Indian Territory with assembly plants, like many other manufacturers. However, this is not yet on the agenda. His priority for now is to ensure the delivery of its laboratories to the end user without a hitch for the launch of the third quarter is going well.
