Already mentioned in a previous conference of Acer, Predator 8 is a gaming tablet that should logically be positioned between the middle and high end. Remained very secret until now, the Predator 8 has been unveiled just over Acer, which stated in particular this chipset in it and the resolution of its slab.

Far dominated by Nvidia with Shield Tablet and Shield Android TV, the industry of video game consoles Android will soon welcome Acer. For its first foray into the Taiwanese wanted to do it big, giving time to refine its device to reaching maximum success.

But while most of the Android console manufacturers opt for ARM SoC, Acer has decided to trust to Intel. Faced with the consistent ARM processors designed to offer video games (Tegra K1, Tegra X1, etc …), the Taiwanese has preferred to turn to the new Intel Atom X7.

This SoC, recently announced by the founder American has the particularity to integrate a high-performance graphics chip, the same words of Intel, in addition to excellent computer unit. Engraved in 14nm, it is energy efficient making it a component of choice for a gaming tablet where performance and autonomy are two key variables.

As the name suggests, the Acer Predator 8 is equipped with a slab of 8 inch, but the resolution of that we were still unknown. This is no longer the case, Acer from clear that it will display the Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels).

While lower than those of some competing devices (iPad Mini, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, etc …), such a resolution remains sufficient on a slate 8 inch while allowing to reduce the number of calculations to be performed by the processor, thus increasing its practical performance.
