ZTE Axon Elite – review

ZTE Axon Elite - review

The ZTE Axon Elite is one of the most interesting proposals we are seeing these days. A 5.5-inch phablet supporting its proposal on three main pillars: first, has a very careful in gold metal with a slightly curved back and several areas with leather touch design. Moreover, it integrates a dual rear camera to play with focus and blur different parts of the photo. Finally, integrated audio system with double chip to create a listening experience HiFi both recording and playback.  Design and Display

Definitely one of the strengths of Axon Elite is in its design. The Asian company used a metal body with slightly curved case and a rose gold hue that enhances its appeal. Furthermore, in the back we have two bands (in the upper and lower) that mimic the feel and look of leather in the same golden hue and to provide a differential touch. On the front, it was reduced almost to a minimum the side frames and included two speakers with a triangular grid pattern that creates an interesting effect. The comprehensive measures of this device are 154 × 75 × 9.3 mm, with a weight of 168 grams. It is not a mobile especially thin or fine, but remains at very competitive figures.

In the field of the screen, we find a panel with classic 5.5-inch size (the standard format for Lenovo Vibe P1 phablets as which has also presented these days). Full HD resolution is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, with a density of 401 dots per inch and a level of good to enjoy content such as movies or videos in high quality detail. By the way, ZTE has also sought to highlight the use of glass Gorilla Glass to protect the screen from bumps and scratches and prevents the buildup of microbes.

 Camera

Undoubtedly, the major attraction of this ZTE Axon Elite. ZTE has included two sensors with Sony bill in the back, one main 13-megapixel resolution and a secondary 2 megapixel. This second sensor is used to analyze the depth of field and establish the elements that are in the foreground and which ones are left in the background. In this way, users can play with different effects such as focusing on a particular area of the photo and blur the rest after taking the snapshot. Another strong point is an opening as small as f / 1.8, a value that will allow us to get clear pictures in environments where lighting is poor. Nor detract from the video section, capable of recording video in 4K UHD 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and then view them on a TV or monitor art. On the front includes a camera with 8 megapixel resolution to take selfies.

 Power and memory

In its core we find a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with eight cores speed up to 2 GHz, combined with 3GB RAM. A very good set to run games and apps for Android and many processes have open at the same time without the computer performance slows down. The internal memory of this handset up to 32 GB, a capacity that can be expanded through a MicroSD card up to 128 GB or an online storage system.

 Operating system and applications

The operating system of ZTE Axon Elite is Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. While not the latest update of this platform, it does allow us to enjoy the vast majority of developments with which arrives this operating system as its colorful interface with rounded icons material design or improvements in its reporting system. In addition, the user experience will be completed with own software layer ZTE MiFavor 3.2. But above all, at the level of use the main attraction are the sensors that have included the company to enhance computer security. So, we have three different ways to protect the smartphone. On the one hand, a fingerprint reader that is placed in the back just below the two camera sensors. Moreover, this device incorporates a technology that analyzes your iris through the front camera to unlock the computer. Finally, we can also record your voice and talk on the phone to be unlocked.

Another point we would like to emphasize here is the audio system ZTE Axon Elite. The company has deployed two independent audio chips with a HiFi sound experience is achieved when both record content and the evening of play, so this is a great compact media player.

 Connections

In the field of connections, this model integrates a double MicroSIM card slot. As a result, we can bring our line phone and work on a single computer. Of course, we keep in mind that if we use the two slots cannot expand the available space through a MicroSD card. As expected, this model is compatible with high-speed 4G networks. It also highlights its protocol support WiFi AC, to connect simultaneously to the bandwidth of 2.4 GHz bandwidth and 5 GHz manner and thus enjoy an experience faster and more stable network. The connections are completed with an NFC chip to carry out payments through mobile phones, Bluetooth to synchronize with GPS compatible and to share our location or navigate anywhere devices.

 Autonomy, price and reviews

The ZTE Axon Elite includes a battery of 3,000 milliamps, a capacity that is close to that mark other models of similar size as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. ZTE has not shared specifics of airtime that allows this battery, even if it wanted to highlight its capacity for rapid load (two hours of conversation with five minutes to load). To see this device on the market will have to wait until next September 24. Its price will rise to 420 euros. In short, a very interesting model that becomes the spearhead of the Chinese company and shows its possibilities in the field of high-end professional camera with cutting or HiFi audio system.
