Last year, the Chinese manufacturer Pipo showed the concept mini-PC called X8. The device was a mini-PC, which combines powerful hardware and touch screen.  It seems that such devices have a fairly high demand, as the company released a new version of its hybrid device Pipo X9S.

Today, the company introduced the successor Pipo X9S with better hardware equipment.

Pipo X9S mini desktop has 8.9 inch touchscreen display with a resolution 1920×1200 pixels. The special feature of X9S is that the device is not a tablet, but rather PC for the desk. Mini desktop has little angled position of the screen which makes it easy to read. However, we think that built-in display is better to use as second screen and connect larger external monitor to use as the main.

Pipo X9S received a significant upgrade of equipment. The main improvement is processor. Now mini-PC uses new Intel Atom Z8300 x5 “Cherry Trail”, instead of old Intel Bay Trail. Furthermore, the device has a more powerful graphics unit on board.

New Pipo X9S comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory – a doubling compared to the previous model. Actually, according to Intel, processor Z8300 supports only 2GB of RAM, but Chinese manufacturer was able to increase to 4GB. In fact, it is good news for users because 2GB is not enough for daily work of Windows 10.

Pipo upgraded its Mini-PC even with HDMI output, Ethernet port, 4 ports USB 2.0, microSD card reader and built-in speakers. Unfortunately, you’ll have to forget about USB 3.0 port, from which the company refused because of the expensive price. However N-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 are available again.

Pipo X9S runs on operating system Windows 10. You can buy Pipo X9S at Chinese stores that specialize in worldwide shipping. Price of the device is about $200.

Here are the first live images of the new TV box Huawei MediaQ M321, until recently known as destined for the Chinese market alone, Honor Mini PC. The device, which costs just $ 38 at the exchange, it is small and compact but supports 4k video H.265 / HEVC.

 E ‘compact, very cheap and, until recently, was known as Huawei Honor Mini PC, but will only use the name for the Chinese market: we speak of the Huawei MediaQ M321  of which now have the first live photos. The TV box is therefore the successor to the MediaQ M310 seen in 2013 from which it inherits the design (but with a different color scheme) and the measures contained.

 In particular, this new version is really small (just 85 x 85 x 15.5 mm and 180 g in weight) but offers a park gates well fed, consists of a USB 2.0, HDMI digital video output, an RJ-45 for connection to wired networks, a microSD card reader, an AV output and S / PDIF audio and connectivity ensure the chip Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 (dual band dual antenna) to 300 Mbps and Bluetooth 4.0. The hardware configuration includes a rather HiSilicon SoC with quad-core CPU 1.5 GHz, supported by 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage, expandable as seen thanks to the microSD card reader.

 So this is a mini PC is not particularly powerful, but thought by Huawei to merge two main things: the price and the ability to play videos in 4K format in the standard H.265 / HEVC, in order to offer these features even in the low-end the market. Huawei MediaQ M321 is already available for pre-order (will instead be in stock in local stores as of December 23) on the Chinese market at a cost of 298 yuan, equivalent to about 38 euro.

At the moment, there is no confirmation that it will be marketed in the US or Europe and it is not said that they keep the price seen at the exchange. The MediaQ M310 of 2013, for example, costs about $ 80, that still would not be much for a Mini PC with Android 4.4 KitKat, remote control and support for 4K video.
