Ramos Q7 - first Windows Phone with 7-inch screen

We already knew the 7-inch Android smartphone, Huawei and Samsung. This is the first Windows Phone with this screen size: the Q7 Chinese brand Ramos. Unfortunately, the mobile is not as ambitious inside…

Ramos is one of its many small brands installed in Shenzhen, China’s Silicon Valley. Installed since 2001, the company specializes in tablets, both Android as Windows for screen sizes ranging from 7 to 10 inches. Side depth, it seems to have no religion: MediaTek or Intel, it’s your choice. But until now, it had not taken the step of telephony: too small for her.

But several manufacturers, some global as Huawei (with the MediaPad X2), HP (Slate7 Voicetab) or Samsung (with the Galaxy W) did not crowded detail. Without obviously talk about all proposals that reach 6 inches (Lumia 1520, Lumia 1320) or exceed (Xperia Ultra, Galaxy Mega, Vibe Z2 Pro, Huawei P8 Max, etc.). So finally, why bother with a size limit?

So as well as taking part in the spring edition of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair website that the Asian IT Home has had a chance to take the picture above. This is the Q7, a Windows Phone 8.1 whose main characteristic is to incorporate a 7-inch screen. This is the first smartphone running the OS with a slab of this size. Note that setting of the display is 720p. Is a fairly low resolution of 210 pixels per inch.

The definition screen reveals in part that this smartphone / tablet is sorely lacking in ambition within his very empty chassis. Snapdragon 200 quad-core 1.2 GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a battery of 4000 mAh (it must be somewhere justify the size of the machine), a 5 megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel webcam. No 4G Snapdragon 200, just a 3G + connection. The picture is obviously not clear enough to see the weight of the beast, but it seems far exceed 200 grams.

No indicative price. No launch date. No target markets (although China seems quite legitimate). But is it really useful to know? As we ask the question of the value of combining a 7-inch screen with a Snapdragon 200, which is unable to play full HD video.
