MediaTek introduced new 64-bit processors series Helio X and Helio P

MediaTek is the eternal rival Qualcomm, it is the largest provider of phone processors in the world and reigns supreme on the high end. However, Samsung has shaken the American glove with its Exynos 7420 that has trouncing Snapdragon 810. MediaTek also wants to get into the game to win its share of high-end cake, he has success with its Helio processors.

MediaTek is a Taiwanese company that continues to want to shorten the distance with Qualcomm and it works pretty well so far. Indeed, the chipmaker has now overtaken the US as regards the entry level and also the mid-range recently. Starting with the bottom of the ladder, MediaTek back slowly ranges.

This seems to be the last stage of MediaTek diabolical plan to take over Qualcomm; the premium is the next target. The problem is that this firm is suffering from an image “low end” because its components are most of the time in this range and also because optimization is his forte, but this is not always the case.

Both SoC presented by the firm are the Helio P and Helio X, but we have no information about the Helio P. Let us go into the details, the Helio X10 is here presented in 64-bit and with 8 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz. It also comes with a refresh rate of 120Hz and allow video recording in slow-motion 480 fps, the maximum being 240 to date for iPhone 6.

One index for Helio P “premium performance chips,” maybe it will be an even better version than the X10. In any case MediaTek promises heavy with its new products at the same time the Snapdragon 815 surfaced, and could well pass the course the high end once and for all. The first smartphone with Helio processor could happen in the second quarter of 2015.
