HTC is about to launch One E9 in China

HTC has just sent out invitations for a new launch in China. The One E9, low-cost phablet inspired by the One M9, is a good candidate but the One M9 Plus could also be involved.

Certification is usually a sign of a launch approaching and it seems to be true again. The One E9 recently received hers in China and HTC has just to invite the Chinese press for a new launch. Our colleagues of Ithome included received an invitation yesterday. It takes the form of a large metal plate on which two dates have been entered. The first is that of 11 March, that of today. The second is March 17.

The One M9 Plus also involved?

As always, the manufacturer was careful not to reveal the subject of his next announcement and, if the One E9 is the best candidate in light of recent events, some elements still sow doubt. The material used for the invitation is obviously one. The One E9 should be based on a plastic frame and not metal, unlike the One M9 Plus also expected in the coming weeks.

The two dates also raise some questions. They refer to two stages of a launch (presentation and marketing) or rather two different releases? The One E9 and One M9 Plus could thus be both are affected. We should have a first answer in the day. In the meantime, let us just refresh your memory with a reminder of the expected characteristics for each of them.

 Two smartphones finally very close

The One E9 should be distinguished by plastic chassis, but also because its format would be a phablet 5.5. “The second would take the metal construction of One M9 with larger dimensions only. We talk here a screen of 5.2 “. For the rest, the two models should be substantially identical with, notably, a qHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels), an octa-core MT6795 chipset clocked at 2 GHz, 3 GB RAM or a 20 megapixel camera.
