HTC has promised to provide the Android 5.1 Lollipop updates to their high end HTC One M9 and M8 devices in this first week of August, but we also have news about a new intermediate smartphone visited the regulator Chinese TENAA.

Baptized provisionally with code name Desire 728t, the new HTC device will probably be a bet for markets like China and India. Certification have confirmation of some features such as support for LTE connections, noting that a version called Desire 728w also appeared in TENAA in July, but with support for WCDMA (3G). Both variants incorporate MediaTek processor and the operating system Android 5.1 Lollipop.

HTC Desire 728t is worth recalling that the Desire 728 had alleged leaked photos yesterday, revealing two speakers on the front. It is expected to be launched with the following characteristics;

  •  5.5 inch screen with HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels
  • MediaTek MT6753 processor 64-bit with eight cores and 1.3GHz GPU Mali-T720
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of space for internal storage (expandable via microSD card)
  • 13MP rear camera and front 5MP
  • WCDMA (3G) / Dual-SIM 4G LTE.
  • 2.800mAh battery
  • Operating System Android 5.1 Lollipop with interface Sense 7
  • Size: 157.9 × 77.8 × 7.87 mm and 150 grams

No information on other hardware specifications, availability and pricing, but we should see more leaks in the coming weeks. The HTC should not take to present new solutions in the market, considering it has not been able to repeat the success of the HTC One M7 to attend the high profit margins of the high end lines. The focus must turn to intermediary’s models like the Desire 728.
